He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Jones Lawson and Ellis Lawson, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Gloria J. Scruggs Lawson; his children, Cherell Orr, Sharia Turner and Ellis Lawson IV; and his siblings, Kathy Rice, Leslie Lawson, Vernon Lawson and Terrance Lawson. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
