He was predeceased by: his parents, Hurle Talbert and Mary Ethel Talbert; his siblings, George Talbert, Bobby Talbert and Virginia Medlin; his grandson Zachary Almond; and his friend Boo Talbert.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Talbert of Albemarle; his children, Debbie Hildreth (Anthony), Edward Talbert, Lisa Talbert, Ethel Almond (Brian) and Angela Talbert; his grandchildren, Kristen Banks (Ryan) and Preston Talbert; and his siblings, Betty Hopkins, Alice Pickler, Thelma Lucas, Connie Ridenhour and Bill Talbert.
