It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Burris Efird (Albemarle, North Carolina), who passed away on August 25, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Vanuel Lee Burris; her husband Arthur Reid Efird; her brother Newell Curtis Burris (Sarah); her sister-in-law Ann Burris; and also Lula Faye Burris Lamonds (Ray).
She is survived by: her parent Osie Edwards Burris; her children, Elaine Efird Hollins (Russ) and Stanley Reid Efird (Jean); her grandchildren, Nadalie Bowers (Watkins), Joy Greene (Bryan), Larry Dennis (Regina) and Daniel Efird (Tricia); and her brothers, Arthur David "Whitey" Burris and Johnny Reece Burris (Barbara). She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
