He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Jean Eudy Harkey; his former wife Deetsie Harkey; his daughter Joanie Harkey; and his nephew Eric Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Janet Harkey of Albemarle; his daughter Jennie Furr (Ashley) of Stanfield; his grandson Mason Furr of Stanfield; his siblings, Larry Harkey (Linda) of Millingport and Cindy Rhodes (Terry) of New London; and his nieces, Terrie Holshouser and Sarah Palmer.
