He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry Efird and Lessie Efird; his son Dexter Gene Efird; and his brothers, J. Kenneth Efird, Darrell C. Efird and Larry R. Efird.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Furr Efird; and his daughter Sheila Poplin (Tony).
