He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Sr. Mims and Carrie Morris Mims; his siblings, Ollie, Robert, Ike, Roosevelt, Sylvester Jr. Saddened, Mamie Scott of Baltimore, Jeanette Pressley of Baltimore, Janelle Lark, David Mims and Marion "Map" Mims; his niece Reverend Arnette Wall (Deacon Eddie); his nephew Ricardo "Ron" Quarles (Leonera); and his sisters-in-law, Bessie M. Mims, Georgia and Mary Q. Mims.
