He is survived by: his wife Niam Nchaiv Kos Thoj (Sia Yang); and his children, Chong Toua Thao, Chia Neng Thao, Nyia Za Thao, Cha Thao, Chou Thao, Mai Ya Thao and Tou Ger Thao. He is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
