He was predeceased by: his father Matthew Barbee; and his sister Julia Ferguson. He is survived by: his son David Barbee (Meredith) of Signal Mountain, TN; and his sisters, Marie Stogner (Henry) of Norwood, NC and Katherine Eudy (Hal) of Ridgecrest, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (112 W Red Cross Road, Oakboro, NC 28129) or to Hospice of Stanly County.
