He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lonnie Simmons and Isabel Skelton Simmons; his wife Julia Ann Simmons of Mebane, NC.; his children, Shawn and Stephanie Nicole Simmons of Mebane, NC.; and his brother Gene Simmons (Karen Simmons) of Hope Mills, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Angels Among Us at Duke Cancer Center.
