He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Brown and Hazel Amick Brown; his wife Fanneline Kivett Brown; and his siblings, Mary Willis Robertson, Leonard Amick Brown and Richard Carmen Brown.

He is survived by: his children, Audrey B. Tillinghast and Wayne T. Brown; and his grandchildren, Melanie Terrell, Stacy Staley, Christa Evans, Amber Long, Joshua Brown and Jessica Summerfield. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
