He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Clarence Stout and Rachel Brown Stout; his sister Dorothy Stout Bunton; and his daughter-in-law Heather St. Aubin-Stout. He is survived by: his wife Mildred M. "Millie" Stout; his sons, Gray Carlton Stout of Charlotte and Jeffrey Glenn Stout (Mary Elizabeth "Beth"); his grandsons, Ryan Lawrence Stout (Hannah I. Stout) of Salisbury, Nathaniel Stephen Stout of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas Eugene Stout of Charlotte and Jay Carlton Stout (Rachel P. Stout) of Wilmington; his brother James H. Stout (Sally C. Stout) of Waynesboro, VA; and also Gina W. Stout of Wilmington. He is also survived by numerous cousins and nieces.
