She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Chapin and Beatrice Petty Thomas; her siblings, Virginia Thomas Hinshaw and Jimmy Neal Thomas; and her husbands, William Trollinger Garrison, James Homer Moore and Samuel Dolphin Clayton.

She is survived by: her children, Ginny Merritt (Don), Ann and Tom Moore (Karan); and her granddaughters, Amy Merritt (Joe Harrington) and Becca Merritt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
