He is survived by: his children, Shadarieka Dempsey (Aaron) of Pottstown, PA, Linda Scott of Phil, Barbara Mabine of Phil and David Scott of Phil; and his siblings, Mary Jones of Ohio, Peggy Hunter of Raleigh, NC, Ann Dempsey of Raleigh, NC, Rubin Dempsey of Ahoskie, NC, Delhart Dempsey of Union, NC and James "Johnny" Dempsey of Franklin, VA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
