He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Ulysses Smith, Sr.; his children, Alfredia Sharpe (Ricky) of Goldsboro, N. C., Dorothia Smith of Kelford, N. C., Elaine Jones of Paterson, N. J., Lynette Harris of Paterson, N. J., Jackie McIver (Kwame) of Hobgood, NC, Mary Griffin (Accie) of Roanoke Rapids, N. C. and Kevin Johnson (Donna) of Clifton, N. J.; and his sisters, Glenda Newsome (Edward) of Bronx, N. Y., Rachel Smith of Bronx, N. Y., Vera Newsome (Leon) of Fayetteville, N. C. and Vicki Dickerson of Lewiston, N. C.. He was also cherished by twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.
