It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sadie Newbern Castello (Ahoskie, North Carolina), who passed away on December 8, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph James and Blonnie Fairless Newbern; her husband Carl Ray Castello; her siblings, Forrise N. "Blue" Fairless, Betty Rae Castellow, Kenneth Wayne Newbern and Frank Dupree Newbern; and her grandchildren-in-law, Larry Stevenson Hoggard, Jr. and Karen Levinson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl C. Levinson (Stanley) of Norfolk, VA and Julia C. Godwin (Wallace) of Ahoskie, NC; her grandchildren, Tanya Levinson, Samuel Levinson, Carla Godwin and Stacey Hoggard; her great grandchildren, Michael Hoggard, Gavin Levinson and Andrew Levinson; and her sister Faye Newbern Cobb of Murfreesboro, NC..
