He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Maynard and Elsie Ayers Oakley; and his siblings, Walter Benjamin Oakley, Joseph Keith Oakley, Edith Rae James and Jenny Lou Oakley.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Turner Oakley; his daughter Jennifer Oakley Williams (Walter Melvin) of Tarboro, NC; his grandsons, Jordan Lawrence Oakley and Wyatt Matthew Williams; and his siblings, Barbara Bullock of Bear Grass, NC, Alice Faye Russell (Don) of Grifton, NC, Becky Sue Griffin (Rodney) of Robersonville, NC, Judy Elaine Oakley of Williamston, NC and Michael Lee Oakley of Williamston, NC.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
