He was predeceased by: his parents, John Askew and Grace White Askew; and his brother Carroll Askew. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sons, Kevin "Mutt" Askew (Donna) of Aulander and John "Jay" Askew (Tammy) of Ahoskie; his grandchildren, Brandon Askew (Sarah) of Ahoskie, Joshua Askew of Windsor and Krislyn Askew of Ahoskie; his great grandchildren, Weston Johns of Ahoskie, Lillian Grace Askew and Olivia Paige Askew; his sisters, Linda Hall (John) of Sanford and Peggy White of Ahoskie; and his pet Max. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
