He is survived by: his wife Nancy Mitchell Godwin; his children, Nancy Freeman (Larry) of Ahoskie, Julie Hurdle (Greg) of Aulander and Paul Mitchell Godwin, III (Johnna) of Ahoskie; his grandchildren, Jason Harrell (Paula) of Ahoskie, Justin Freeman (Sarah) of Greenville, Austin Hurdle (Ashlyn) of Aulander, Landon Hurdle (Renee) of Ahoskie, Paul Godwin, IV (Ashley) of Greenville and Quincy Godwin of Ahoskie; and his great grandchildren, Kendall Harrell, Brayden White Godwin of Jesse, Freeman, Luke Freeman and Claire Freeman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Ahoskie Chapel (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Baptist Church (1437 NC-11, Aulander, NC 27805). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Highland Memorial Gardens (109 Ward Rd, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
