He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Baskin and Lillie Mae Gainey Baskin; his wife Alice Merretta Ward Baskin; and his siblings, Chover, Dove, Harold, Otis Baskin, Louise Baskin and Margaret Baskin Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Cherry of Windsor, Carolyn Lloyd of Windsor, Roslyn Baskin of Ahoskie, Alison Cherry (Derrick Watford) of Ahoskie and Rufus Baskin Frazier of Illinois; his grandchildren, Nasheem, Jacquin, Micah, Jesseca Frazier, Rydrier, Jabriel Stevenson, Aja Carson-Gurley (Andrew), Christina and Crystal Lloyd; his great grandchildren, Jamison, Kellen Gurley, Marquasha Everette, Keajah, Ariaja Lee, Chloe Lloyd, Madison Holley, Myia Johnson and Nadya Goode; and his siblings, Willa Alston of Ossining, NY, Beatrice Baskin of Fayetteville, NC and Ronald Baskin (J. B. Gilliam) of Long Beach, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
