She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha James Reid and Otis Reid; her husband Thomas Augustus Lassiter, Jr.; and her sons, Thomas Augustus Lassiter, III, Dennis Lassiter and William "Bobby" Lassiter of Wesley Chapel, FL.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Lassiter of Wesley Chapel, FL and Rick Lassiter of Bristol, CT; her grandchildren, Ian of Connecticut, Xavier of Connecticut, Maximillian Lassiter of Connecticut and Yloni Almeida Lassiter of Florida; her great grandchild Sai Almeida of Florida; her daughter Carolyn Perkins of Connecticut; and her siblings, Edith Patterson of Greensboro, NC and Horace Reid of Washington, DC. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church (801 US-13, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Reid Family Cemetery (928 Ahoskie-Cofield Rd, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
