She was predeceased by: her husband A. D. Newsome. She is survived by: her children, Ruth Privette (Gerald) of Hendersonville, NC and Richard Newsome (Cheryl) of Swansea, IL; her grandchildren, David Privette (Missy) of Candler, NC, Carrie Privette (Lauren) of Flat Rock, NC, Avalon Elliott (Nicholas) of Ann Arbor, MI and Cheyenne Frazier (Kyle) of Spokane, WA; and her great grandchildren, Abby Harris Privette, Charlie Elliott, Aidan Elliott, Ellie Frazier and Cami Frazier.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
