He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Barnes Hoggard and Mamie Ruth White; and his grandparents, Gurley and Lenora White. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Chad Hoggard (Suzanna) of Murfreesboro and Michelle Lee Hoggard Hite (Ronald Hite, III) of Ahoskie; his granddaughters, Hope Hoggard of Murfreesboro and Madeline Hite of Ahoskie; and his siblings, Geraldine Harrell of Windsor, Kathy Fields (Michael) of Windsor, Donna Diaz (Juan) of Dover, DE, Jo Ann Hoggard of Alexandria, VA, Tammy Murwin of Winton, Clayton Murwin (Colette) of Jacksonville, FL and Billy Murwin of Snugg Harbor, NC.
