She was predeceased by: her parents, John E. M. Perry and Carrie Jo Perry. She is survived by: her spouse John B. Tolbert; her children, Joseph M. "Sonny" Browne, III of Greenville, NC and Johnna Browne Lewis (Willard Lewis); her grandsons, Logan H. P. Chapman of Roxobel, NC. and Robert E. M. Chapman of Roxobel, NC.; her aunts, Helen Thompson (Charles Thompson) of Suffolk, VA, Betty Todd of Merry Hill, NC and Esther Perry of Wakelon; and her uncle Wallace Perry (Shirley Perry) of Wakelon.
Her teaching career ended as she started her battle with Alzheimer's disease.
