She is survived by: her children, Laura Jeanette Batts (Mitch) and Kevin Thomas Mathias (Holly); her sisters, Marie Benthall of Ahoskie and Betty Mathias of Ahoskie; and her grandchildren, Shelton Mitchell Batts II (Sidney), Annie Laura Batts, Annabell Faith Mathias and Mason Thomas Mathias.
