He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Zebedee Brown and Minnie Britton Brown; his siblings, J. B., Coy, Lonnie Brown, Helen Brown Pearce and Pansy Brown Storey; and his son Hal Connor Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Dilday Brown; his daughter Penny Lynn Brown (Milton Mizelle); his grandsons, Charles Bowen Jones II of Greenville and Connor Brown Jones (Brooke) of Greenville; his great grandchildren, Hudson Brown Jones and Sawyer Grant Jones; his siblings-in-law, Martha Rebecca "Becky" Rawls and Melvin Lee Dilday of Raleigh, NC; and his friends, Tom Fretwell, Ralph Brinkley, Bobby Beard, David Powell and Al Castello. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
