He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Parker Vinson and Melvin Howell Vinson, Sr.; and his niece Renee Vinson Garner. He is survived by: his wife Henrietta Bethea Vinson; his son Parker Howell Vinson of Raleigh; his brother Melvin H. Vinson, Jr. (Carol) of Chesapeake, Virginia; his nephew Brent P. Vinson; his great-niece Sydney Vinson; his great-nephews, Joshua High, Blake Vinson and Brady Vinson; and his friend Jerri Lynn Askew.
