Doris Tayloe Chamblee Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 23, 2025, at the age of 98, Doris Tayloe Chamblee (Ahoskie, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph James Chamblee; her parents, Retta Griffin Tayloe and Will Tayloe; and her brother Beecher Tayloe. She is survived by: her children, Jean Gritz of Ahoskie and David Chamblee (Sonya) of Cofield; her grandchildren, Will Chamblee (Landis) of Ahoskie and Courtney Adkins (Mike) of Winterville; and her great grandchildren, Madison, James Adkins of Winterville, Mac and Helen Chamblee of Ahoskie.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Highland Memorial Gardens (109 Ward Rd, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
