She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie E. Smith and Jessie W. Smith; her husband James P. Hill; her sister Evelyn Smith Jernigan; and her nephew Garrett Jernigan.
She is survived by: her daughter Julie Hill of Nags Head; her grandchildren, Jessica Hope Felton of Long Beach, NY and William Felton of Wilmington, NC; her nephew Richard Jernigan (Carla) of Raleigh, NC; her pet Heidi; her friends, Sandra Evans and Elaine White; and also, Garrett Jernigan and Lynn Cominsky of Petaluma, CA.
