She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel V. "Dick" Aswell and Louise Rhea Aswell; and her sister Elizabeth Callis. She is survived by: her husband Thomas A. "Tommy" Powell, III; her sons, Joe Fox (Paula) of Washington, NC and Brandon Vaughan of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Brek Fox, Kristen Fox, Daniel Steele (Kaitlyn), Andrew Steele (Alexis) and Rebecca Byers (Patrick); and her siblings, Barbara Blowe of Ahoskie and Robert Aswell (Sue) of Reidsville.
