She was predeceased by: her parents, Rueben Dempsey and Zenora Perry Dempsey. She is survived by: her sons, Tirone Spivey of Cameron, NC and Christopher Smith of Ahoskie, NC; and her siblings, Johnny Dempsey of Franklin, VA, Delhart Dempsey of Ahoskie, NC, Rueben Dempsey of Ahoskie, NC, JoAnn Hunter of Winton, NC and Mary Dempsey of Ohio. She is also survived by two grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
