He was predeceased by: his parents, Madison Burden and Mildred Askew Burden of Bertie County. He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Askew Burden; his children, Shaterica Lee of Greenville, NC and Byron Ferrell of Greenville, NC; and his siblings, Nellie B. Ward of Ahoskie, NC, Clarence Burden of Brooklyn, NY and Levy Burden of Aulander, NC. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
