He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Gunter Thomas and Rhoda Louise Garrett Thomas; and his siblings, Ira Gunter Thomas Jr., Dessie Naomi Chester (Elmer), Lillian Terry (Talmadge), Stella Terry (Herbert), Willie Clyde Eason (Lloyd), Mary Carolyn Turner (Herbert), Louise Jackson (Sam) and Evelyn Marie Morgan.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Mae Copeland Thomas; his daughter Ruth Thomas McIntyre; his son-in-law Tim McIntyre of Advance; his granddaughters, Sharity Nesnick (Michal) of Canton and Erika Neldner (Michael) of Woodstock, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Kelsey, Jaeda Nesnick, Jackson and Evan Neldner.
