He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John McCoy Rierson and Martha Anne Searcy Rierson of Forsyth County; his wife Katherine Hege Rierson; his children, R. Donald Rierson, Jr. (Jodie) of Charlotte and Carolyn R. Carpenter (Ken) of Lewisville; and his great grandchildren, Ada, Josiah, Millicent Carpenter of Montgomery, AL, Abigail and Elijah Shelton of Indian Trail.
