He is survived by: his wife Donna Carpenter of Advance; his children, Christopher Carpenter (Tiffany) of Leland, NC, Michelle Cox of Concord, NC, Carrie Nichols of Salisbury, NC and Katie Shubert (Dylan) of Lexington, NC.; his siblings, Scott Carpenter (Julie) of Michigan, Karen Robinson (Craig) of Michigan, Melinda Schlueter of Florida and Faith Bowen (Dean) of Ohio; his grandchildren, Jason, Zachary and Kandace; and his pet Cooper.
