He is survived by: his sons, Andrew and Chris Meadwell; his grandsons, Caleb, Jacob and Jackson Meadwell; and his siblings, Jack Meadwell (Sandra) and Sandra Rannells. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JDRF for charitable contributions.
