He was predeceased by: his parents, David Stokes and Grace Martin Swaim; and his siblings, Novella, Beulah, Linda, D. W. of Clay, C. J. and Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Musten Swaim; his children, Lisa Voss (Brad) of Kernersville, Maria Moerk of Kernersville and John Swaim of Nashville, TN; his sister Mildred Voss (Rex) of Kernersville; his grandchildren, Tyler Thomas (Chelsea), Evan Voss, Hannah Moerk and Michael Moerk; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Sutton and Holt Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
