It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Allan Koivisto (Advance, North Carolina), born in Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer John and Virginia Dormer Koivisto; and his brother Timothy Edward Koivisto. He is survived by: his wife Susan Green Koivisto; his son Michael; his daughter-in-law Amy Fraysier Koivisto; his grandchildren, Lucas, Owen Koivisto and Ava Koivisto; his siblings-in-law, Richard Green and Adeline Nunez; his niece Adeline; his nephew Carl Green; and his cousins, Bruce Grevall and Frank Bolos.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trellis Supportive Care, the Forsyth Humane Society, or Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation (AARF).
