JoAnne M. Cota Obituary

We bid farewell to JoAnne M. Cota of Advance, North Carolina, born in Peacham, Vermont, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 9, 2024 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by: her parents, Yutaka Minakuchi and Nellie Cook; her grandson Joseph Dodwell Fortune; and her brother-in-law William G. Morrissey. She is survived by: her sister Francena Morrissey; her daughters, Sharolyn Cota, Linda Bessette (Roger), Diane Fortune (Rick) and Lori Hewett (Ron); her grandchildren, Marc Bessette (Dawn Goslin), Suzanne Thompson (Jason), Nicholas Fortune (Kelly), Taylor Hewett (Dana) and Sarah Jo Adams (Ben); and her great grandchildren, Reese, Corrine Bessette, Eli Fortune, Ethan, Mason Thompson and Carson Hewett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Kinderton Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (108 E Kinderton Way, Advance, NC 27006).

In lieu of flowers, Joanne would have wanted donations sent to the Carolina Bassett Hound Rescue.
