She was predeceased by: her father Elmer Leon. She is survived by: her husband Ronald "Ronnie" Leo Barney; her children, Aubrey Bowman (Donna) of Advance and Eleisa Barbour of Advance; and her stepdaughters, Ann Anderson (Larry) of Mocksville and Susan Barney Phipps of Mocksville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
