He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Hawks and Ola Golding Hawks; his wife Ozias Hill Hawks; his daughter Joyce Hawks Spear; his son-in-law Bobby Spear; and his siblings, Lannie Rorrer, Hattie Berrier, Kathleen Hedderly and Jack Hawks.
He is survived by: his daughter Jeanete H. Slater (Andy); his grandchildren, Chris Spear (Amy), Kim Spear, Michael Slater and Michele Mankey (Joe); his great grandchildren, Layton, Matthew, Colton, Sadie and Elizabeth; and his sisters, Ethel Rose and Georgie Bryant.
