He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward D. Miller and Maria Miller; his son Paul Steven Miller; and his sisters, Dorothy Nichleson and Odessia Martin.

He is survived by: his wife Willie Faye Miller; and his children, Micheal Lee Miller, Paula Mayers, Freddie Miller, Barry Miller and Vicky Smith. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joesphine Layell of Elkin and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yadkin Nursing Center or Mountain Valley Hospice.
