We are sad to announce that on February 9, 2022, at the age of 80, Gayl Barbara Surridge Nifong (Advance, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ralph Gayland and Myrtle Rowledge Surridge; her husband Wayne Eugene Nifong; her daughter Susanne Nifong Baker (Benjamin); her siblings, William Surridge (Delores) of Hickory, Ralph David Surridge of Winston-Salem and Marcia Surridge Peace (Bob) of Tampa, Florida; her children, Douglas Nifong (Melanie) of Orfordville, Jennifer Nifong Morris (Shawn) of Staunton, Rebekah Nifong of Clemmons, NC and Stephen Nifong (Rachel) of Gretna, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Mallory, Emily, Samantha, Abigayl, Silas and Henry. She was also cherished by children, raising her own five children with joy and taking care of nieces and nephews.
