It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emily Porter (Advance, North Carolina), who passed away on September 20, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Emily Porter to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Field Thomas and Irma Jewel Thomas; her daughter Stephanie Carol Cook; her sister Patricia Taylor; and her stepchildren, Leann Lennon and Bill Porter.
She is survived by: her husband William Porter; her daughters, Wendi Loraine (Greg) of Ellicott City, MD and Heather McLeod of Mooresville, NC; and her grandchildren, Madison McLeod, Lorelei Loraine, Tanner McLeod, Violet Loraine, Jayden McLeod, Zoey Loraine, Grace Lennon and Zander Porter.
Due to COVID, a private graveside service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Lynne Caldwell and Rev. Jerry Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emily's home church Bethel United Methodist Church.
