He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Mitchell and Sallie Boles Mitchell; his wife Carol; his siblings, Harold Mitchell and Betty Wright; and his cousin Snooky Peacock.
He is survived by: his son Jimmy Mitchell; and his siblings, Jim Mitchell, Mary Lou Atkins and Patsy Bullins.
