He was predeceased by: his siblings, Roy, Worth, Albert, Odell and Rachel Dunlap.
He is survived by: his husband Ethel Black Monroe; his children, Wanda Lefler, Leland Monroe and Norma Monroe Newton (Floyd); and his grandchildren, Benjamin Monroe (Lucy), Jacob Monroe (Brittley), Natalie Kasper (Tony), Brent Rice (Stephanie), Matthew Newton (Lynn), Mark Newton (Jennifer) and Bobby Newton.
