She was predeceased by: her father Rev. Rufus Burns; her former husband Murphy McKenzie; and her siblings, Maggie Oxendine, Mary Cleveland, Rev. Billy Burns, Rev. Bobby Burns, Rev. O. J. Burns, Rev Joseph Burns, Delton Burns, Rufus Burns, Jr., Grant Burns and Ernest "Sam" Burns.
She is survived by: her husband Lewis; her children, Tammy Haywood (Randy) of Aberdeen, Gail McKenzie of Hoffman, Murphy Lewis McKenzie, Jr. (Heather) of Sanford and Jennifer McKenzie of Aberdeen; and her siblings, Betty Kilroy of Lumberton and Sanford "Teat" Burns. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
