He is survived by: his mother Christine Wilkes Burns; his wife Margaret Scarboro Burns; and his siblings, Michael Burns (Mary) of Erect, NC, David Burns (Cindy) of Seven Lakes, NC, Ricky Burns (Elaine) of Carthage, NC and Joyce Taylor of Aberdeen, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
