She is survived by: her children, Grisel Long (Ruiz Zavala) of North Carolina and Benito Ruiz Zavala, Jr. of South Carolina; her grandson Benito Ruiz III of South Carolina; and her siblings, Guillermina Herrera (Zavala Arroyo) of Florida and Juan Zavala Maldonado of Texas.
