He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schmidt and Catherine Schmidt (Schwab); and his siblings, Elizabeth "Betty", Joann, Phyliss, Mike, Stanley and Pius "Chummy".
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Norheim; his sons, Donovan (Donna) and Darin (Dana); his grandchildren, Stefani Brewer (Allen), Leah Buska, Dani Handelin and Clayton Schmidt; his great grandchild Cassian Brewer; and his brothers, Wally Schmidt (Merle) and Dennett Schmidt (Cookie). He is also survived by friends, and spending time with his sons and their wives, grandchildren and great grandson.
