He was predeceased by: his sisters, June Burns (Sanders) and Lois Smeltzer (Sanders). He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Warman; his son Joe Sanders (Diane Sanders) of Tumwater, Washington; and his grandchildren, Malia Sanders of Port Angeles and Taylor Sanders of Palouse. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Troy School District All School Reunion Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box, 867, Troy, MT 59935.
